Stacie Martinsen

Stacie Martinsen is a proud Texas native who has returned home from Southern California. In addition to her BFA in Theatre from SMU, she also completed her Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Teaching and Technology through Point Loma Nazarene University-Arcadia Campus.  As the Co-Director at Carroll Senior High School, Stacie has directed William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Meredith Willson’s The Music Man, Anne of the Thousand Days, The Philadelphia Story, Deborah Brevoort’s The Women of Lockerbie, which advanced to the UIL One Act Play Regional Competition and finished in the top-12 schools for the State of Texas, and The Pajama Game, the 2007 Casa Manana Betty Lynn Buckley Award Winner for Best Musical.

As a first-year teacher, Stacie was nominated for the Disney American Teacher Award for her work in introducing Shakespeare in the Classroom to Wilson Middle School in Pasadena, California during their inaugural International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme in 1999 - 2000. Stacie taught at the acclaimed Millikan Performing Arts Academy and Magnet in Los Angeles, where her students won numerous state titles in acting, costume design, and technical theatre design.

Stacie has been performing almost thirty-seven years on stage, television, film, radio, and print in both Texas and California.  Her favorite stage roles include Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker, Ellie in Showboat, Agnes in George M!, Desdemona in the Southern Premiere of Good Night, Desdemona, Maria in Twelfth Night, Mrs. San Bernardino in Mrs. California, and Catwoman in the World Premiere of The Bat, The Cat, and the Penguin at Six Flags Over Texas.  This is where she met her husband, Roald, in the summer of 1993: He played the Penguin!

Stacie has performed with the acclaimed Kitchen Dog Theatre in Dallas and The Hudson Guild Theatre in Los Angeles under the direction of Jack Stehlin.  Television roles include appearances on Lifetime’s Strong Medicine with Janine Turner, Walker, Texas Ranger with Chuck Norris, The Bold and the Beautiful, In the Line of Duty: Ambush in Waco with Tim Daly, and Dangerous Curves.  Stacie’s favorite role is that of “Mommy” to son, Aksel, born on December 26, 2003.
