As the Technical Director at Carroll Senior High School, Mr. Barbe has the pleasure of working with many exceptional young thespians, both on stage and behind the scenes.
Ryan Barbe is so excited to be joining Carroll Theatre! For the past 5 years, Mr. Barbe has been the Theatre Teacher at Carroll Middle School. Prior to that, he worked at Carroll Senior High School as a long-term sub during the 2014-15 school year.
A graduate of Carroll High School in 1994, Mr. Barbe is thrilled to be “coming home.” As a student at Carroll, Mr. Barbe was a member of the first Boys Cross Country team to qualify for the State Meet, active as a writer for “The Dragon Tribune,” and also helped the UIL One Act Play submission advance to the Area Contest, finishing as First Alternate to the State Contest (taking Honorable Mention to All-Star Cast or All-Star Cast honors at all four rounds) in his Senior year.
Upon graduation, Mr. Barbe received his BFA in Performance and Pedagogy from Texas Tech University. As a Director, Mr. Barbe has worked on “A Chorus Line,” “After Juliet,” “Eurydice,” and “I Hate Shakespeare,” “Monty Python’s Spamalot,” “Anything Goes,” and most recently, “Dark Road.” Mr. Barbe was nominated by his students for the American Theatre Wing’s Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre Education in 2018 and won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy for his performance in Carroll Theatre’s fundraiser event, Acting with the Stars, in 2019.
